How To-Threading Your Sewing Machine and Winding your Bobbin.mov

January 30th, 2010 | by admin |

This is a quick tutorial on how to thread your sewing machine and wind your bobbin. This is done on a Singer Simple sewing machine, but it is pretty standard so it may help you if you have a different machine. It is a mirror image because of my computer camera, but I use directional cues so it shouldn’t be a problem for you.

    I am having trouble …
    I am having trouble learning how to sew on the same machine that you have. I did everything from the manual like you did so nothing wrong there, but it still seems to clump up and stay in one spot when i try to sew. IS there anything I may be doing wrong? i am new to sewing on a sewing machine. How about the tension and length or width that is on the knobs on top? thanks soo much for your video, it showed me that i did in fact set it up right so it must be something simple that i am missing.

    Yes it can …
    Yes it can definitely get confusing. Once you see it and do it a couple of times, it comes easily. Thanks for the comment! Good luck with your sewing!

    very helpful, thanks! i’d completely missed the part about pulling the thread through that tiny “crevice”. now i should be able to adjust the tension properly.

    @anrems Thank you …
    @anrems Thank you so much for the kind comment. It was hard to see (sorry), but my computer doesn’t take the best video and it was hard to maneuver it to see what I was doing. I have a fantastic camcorder, but I have to figure out how to transfer the files to something that you tube will upload! Let me know when you do the video. I would love to watch it!
