How to put second (top) needle in Singer overlock?
February 3rd, 2010 | by admin |I have 5 tread Singer ultralock machine and no manual. I was using only 3 tread stitches, but now need all five. The trouble is I could not find a hole to put the second top needle in. I turned machine over but no success. Will appreciate pictures (big ones) or professional advise. Thank you.
Get the manual — http://www.singerco.com/accessories/manuals.html — and follow the threading diagrams, as well as the needle placement. The threading does change between 3 and 5 thread on most machines (there’s an additional looper); I doubt you’ll be successful without the manual.
As far as finding the holes for the needles — look for the needleclamp screws. They’ll point towards the needle position from the side.
