    Yes, the 201 is the greatest sewing machine ever made…unfortunately, the U.S. model with the potted motor is the exception to the rule. The U.S. model uses a fibre gear wich is prone to stipping when sewing heavy weight materials, just like the U.S. version of the Singer 15-91! When that fibre gear between the potted motor on the back of the machine goes….guess what, the machine is done!!!

    The 201 is the greatest sewing machine ever made! You have there a 2nd generation model from the mid ’50s. Prism decal set. A beauty! Congrats.
