Do you have a Brothers or Singer sewing machine? How would you rate it? Regular sewing.?

I need to buy a sewing machine and am lost in all the models available. Looking at Brothers and Singer. Want an all-metal machine this time. No plastic gears. Sewing clothing, curtains, decorative sweatshirts etc.

i have a singer…. but its 50 years old. Still works – promise!

    I HAVE AN OLDER SINGER THAT I BOUGHT AT A GARAGE SALE, I PAID 10.00 FOR IT. IT WORKS JUST GREAT, I’VE HAD OTHER SEWING MACHINES,I HAD TWO THAT CAME FROM WARDS, THE FIRST ONE I HAD FOR OVER 30 YEARS AND IT WAS NEVER IN THE SHOP,ONLY OILED IT AND CLEANED IT. GOOD LUCK IN FINDING A MACHINE THATS MADE OUT OF METAL,THERE ALL PLASTIC I THINK THESE DAYS, NOT UNLESS YOU GO FOR THE REAL EXPENSIVE ONES. MY MOTHER-IN-LAW DIED A FEW YEARS AGO AND I GOT HER MACHINE, ITS A PFAFF, ITS THE WORST MACHINE I EVER HAD! ALWAYS SOMETHING GOING WRONG ON IT. GOOD LUCK IN YOUR SEARCH, SUSYQ47
